This later-day incarnation of The Traps lived from 2011 until 2014. During this time we enjoyed the services of Jim Pohlhaus on the skins. Jim was a joy to work with! What a great drummer and great guy! Our rhythm section was rounded out for a short period by third booby-brother, Ace. For Jan and I, sharing a stage with Ace, our baby brother, was pretty special. We took the traveling show into the studio in 2012 for Booby Demo number 2. This was a pretty special project, at Omega Studios in Rockville, and a fully analog experience. No digital circuitry ever touched a note of that music. And it sounds phenomenal! Jan contributed two songs to the demo, and I one. Working with Jan was one of the highlights of my life. He's a special talent, a unique and inspiring individual, and also the very best brother. My first and most successful band was built with him. We shared a lot of fun and harvested a ton of great memories. They say all good things must come to an end, and so with The Booby Traps, but the warmth of those memories will last a lifetime. This incarnation of The Traps lived from 2007 through 2010. A rhythm section of Greg Huyck and Bobby Ryder joined Jan and Matt, rounding out our first long-term roster. We had a lot of fun with those guys, and made a lot of great memories. These were the guys on stage with us at Booby-Palooza, and what a fun time that was! Honestly, I must extend thanks to both Greg and Bobby for helping me personally become a more professional and accomplished gigging musician. It was a great beginning to my journey. Our first Booby Demo was recorded in the fall of 2009 at a tiny studio in Fells Point. We recorded it over three long nights, from midnight till 4AM each night. Tensions ran hot a couple of times. My car was broken into. My 9-5 job during those days was absolute hell. But we made it through. In the end we were proud of the fruits of our labor, and it bouyed us to new heights in the last year of our time together! Find out more!
